Durham, NC - December 6, 2011 - Southern Bride & Groom (SB&G), the Triangle’s most trusted bridal magazine and online wedding planning resource, is celebrating its 25^th anniversary in 2012. The magazine’s Silver Anniversary Edition is being released in late December, in time for engagement season, and will cover the entirety of 2012.

A wonderful couple who rolled with the punches. Nothing would stand in the way of their happiness, kudos to both of them and all the guests who traveled through "Irene" to share the day!

With back up plans in place, the wedding went on as scheduled in our beautifully decorated Grand Ballroom. We hung a garland of seeded eucalyptus (courtesy of Ruth Payne at http://www.lovefleuressence.com/ ), brought in ferns dotted with fresh flowers the bride brought with her and lots of candles.

The setting was truly magical, safe and sound inside with a hurricane raging just outside.

Luckily, the Estate fared very well through Irene. We have power thanks to the awesome Progress Energy crew that made quick work of getting us back on the grid yesterday. Although we have back up generators, it's always nice to have unlimited power...something we all take for granted until we lose it.

We're really looking forward to seeing all our Hudson Manor couples and their families today at our Summer Tasting and Open House, along with many new couples coming to visit.

alternately to make the tables colorful. Green and purple satin linens were used on the buffet and accent tables to complete the Mardi Gras color scheme.

Although it was a rainy Saturday in July, Mary Ann and Jamie had a beautiful wedding in the Grand Ballroom in front of the gazebo. We dressed it in satins and large petunias purchased by the bride through Thomas Benjamin Designs, Creedmoor NC. Here's just one of his beautiful arrangements.

We served a plated meal to 50 guests of either Prime Rib or Chicken Marsala...mmmmmm
None left for the staff :(

We've been so blessed to have so many wonderfully sweet couples marry here at The Hudson Manor Estate this season and this couple was no exception. They were married at 5:00 pm, just in time for a much appreciated breeze and well placed cloud.

Another fabulous wedding ! Ron Smith rockin' the house, Glenn & Jay in the kitchen making incredible dishes, Cinda Putnam's beautiful wedding cake, Jeff Simpson's Specialty lighting and Thomas Benjamin's flowers all made the evening truly unforgettable. Marie Latona our banquet manager worked her magic with the cake table, fruit display, buffett arrangement and other room decor to really personalize the room for Jeff & Dana. Harpist Marilyn Wienand's lovely music was a perfect backdrop for their ceremony, as well.

Erica and Steven are such a beautiful couple. Their Ceremony was held in the Columned Garden at 2:00 pm on May 8th, 2010. It was a gorgeous, breezy afternoon...perfect day for an outdoor wedding!

It's almost time for our wedding season to begin and we're so ready for it!!! It's been a long, cold winter, but Spring is here and we're busy painting, planting, manicuring and readying the Estate. 2010 is proving to be one of our busiest years. All our Hudson Manor couples have been wonderful to work with. We will try to post photos and story's of all our weddings this year on this blog.

We participated in an exclusive 'Triangle Bridal Members Only' wedding show, "A Happy Affair", produced by Dominick & Laura DiGirolomo from Forever Bridal Productions.
